E-standards media player wins accessibility award

eWorks and the E-standards Accessible HTML5 Video Player have won a Deafness Forum of Australia Captioning Award under the category of Online Captioning and Digital Innovation. Development and provision of the video player means that web-based video can be made accessible to hearing impaired, low vision and compromised mobility audiences at no extra cost.

We almost won!

eWorks finalist at the eLearning Excellence Awards

eWorks, together with the Australian Childhood Foundation, was a finalist for an eLearning Excellence Award for developing an online training system to support personnel working with children and young people who have experienced abuse and trauma. We didn't quite win, but send our heartfelt congratulations to The Australian Children's Television Foundation for winning the award in the community category for a brilliant little micro-documentary app.

An Australian enquiry into the veracity and authenticity of e-assessment has been published on the E-standards for Training website. Polytechnic West successfully tendered to respond to the perception among some VET stakeholders that e-assessment does not adequately address the security of the assessment conditions, the reliability of assessment processes, and the identity of the person being assessed.

Understanding learner engagement through learner analytics

Technology innovations research published

An investigation into the approaches and tools used to access and analyse learner analytics data has been published on the E-standards for Training website. Canberra Institute of Technology looked at learner analytics data to determine whether online engagement strategies can be understood through learner interaction and progress through online activities.
